July 28th, 2006if there is a map you think should be added to this section, contact me.
if you want to write a tutorial on a map yourself, write it and send it in.
THE MAP SHADES!!
Shades is a great map for advanced 2v2 or 1v1, you generally find more experianced players on this map than on miniball.
some main points to remember are not to turn it over, and in defence dont give them time to think but dont let them get past you (stay goalside)
TUTORIAL DOGEBALL
dogeball maps on the server are great fun for new players to practice aiming and ship control, along with bouncing
{Someone please write the dogeball section for me.. this is just a draft:}
practice while waiting for a shot.
dogeball maps on the server are:
GoldenEye

Map rules taken from UGN CD Rules (if you are going to play UGN-R then you need to further read the rules at the UGN website regards reporting etc.
Basic Game Rules:
1. All games are played on 'CornerDefence' map with 4 players.
2. The game is speedball, so keep your mouse button down all the time and don't hold the ball.
3. The player who conceded the previous point starts with the ball at the ball spawn. The player must shoot the ball for the game to be active, this does not include a player moving the ball with his gravity without shooting it.
4. The game is played to 10 points, the first player to reach 10 points is eliminated and is in the 4th place, the second in 3rd, etc.
5. After a player is eliminated, the other players continue playing until there's only player one left (the winner).
6. In the first point of the game, and in the first point after a player is eliminated, the ball is free for all.
7. After every pause the game must be respawned with the player who conceded the last point starting with the ball. If no one can remember who conceded the last point, the player who requested the pause will start.
8. Before the game starts it must be randomised.
9. When there are only two players left in the game, each player must be diagonally opposite to the other. If they are not, one player must switch so that they are. This can be decided by the player with the most points having to switch. If scores are even and neither player wishes to switch teams, they must play a point to decide who must switch (the winner decides who switches; the point does not count towards the player's score). A player can only switch horizontally (e.g. red to yellow, green to blue, etc.).
Fouls and Other Game Rules:
1. If someone holds the ball (they do not shoot the ball immediately), they must score an own goal and will be the first to get the ball next.
2. If someone gets the ball at the ball spawn when it is not their turn, they must score an own goal and will be the first to get the ball next.
3. If someone scores on an empty goal where a player was eliminated, they must score an own goal and will be the first to get the ball next.
4. If someone's goal is scored on when another player should have scored an own goal, their score limit will increase by one each time (e.g. first time they will play to 11, second time 12, etc.).
5. If someone suddenly stops controlling their ship and holds or is scored on and then comes back and says they got a pop-up: if they held - respawn, if they were scored on - they play to 11, etc.
6. If there is a server spike for at least 3 players and someone is left holding the ball, the point is respawned and played again. If someone is scored on during a spike, they will play to 11, etc.
7. If someone leaves mid-game or stops controlling their ship without saying where they have gone, you must wait at least 2 minutes incase they were disconnected. If they don't show up after 2 minutes, the game continues, and the user is eliminated.
8. It is not permitted for a player to switch teams at any time unless it is to be diagonally opposite to a player when there are two players left.
CornerDefense2 Map Rules:
All rules are the same as above except for the following:
If someone scores on an empty goal where a player was eliminated, it is ignored and play continues. This means that a player does not have to score an own goal.
If a player holds the ball, they must score on their own goal outside the arena, NOT ON THEIR BUMPER GOAL!
