advanced uniball concepts
doubling - when you are driving your ship right next to someone on your team (getting in their way).. this is bad if they have the ball because you are too close to pass to, and the defenders can rush in and defend easlier.
it is even worse to double on defence because you are covering less area.
speedball - When you play a game while holding shoot the whole time (so you shoot the ball as soon as you catch the ball). this is done on maps such as Corner Defence, or can be great bouncing/aiming practice.
out the back door - in uniball.. especially hockey.. if you are on defence, you either cover the ball holder/pointman or you mark your man (so that if your man gets the ball he cant score.. and the pass has to be much more accurate to get to him)
anyway.. if your man "gets out the back door" it means he "cuts" and gets infront of you and gets the ball.
cut/cutting when you drive somewhere waiting for a pass.. then rush somewhere open quickly and get the pass.. if you rush quickly you will leave your defender behind or get the pass while there is a shot at goal.
sitting if there are an odd number of players in a game e.g. 3 or 5 .. then sometimes the last player to join sits in the goal so that it is fair.. e.g. you wouldnt play 3v2.
if you are asked to sit.. then wait in a goal or go observer (press f4)
goalside staying between your man (that you are defending) and the goal.
Double (doubling) if you are told not to double, it means you are driving on top of your teammates. in defence this is bad because it means you have two players covering one small area which is a waste. if it is on offence.. it is bad because there is only one place for your third teammate to pass to.. or if you are doubling the guy that has the ball.. if he bounces you may steal it by mistake.
